Chairman's Message

Welcome to IISS, New Delhi

Welcome to the Indian Institute of Social Science (IISS), New Delhi.

It gives me immense pleasure to welcome you to the Indian Institute of Social Science (IISS), an institution committed to promoting knowledge, learning, research, and social responsibility.

Social sciences help us understand society, human behaviour, institutions, relationships, and the challenges that shape our world. In an era of rapid social, economic, technological, and cultural transformation, the importance of social science education has never been greater.

At IISS, our endeavour is to create an academic environment where knowledge is combined with values, learning with responsibility, and education with meaningful social contribution. We believe that true education should not only develop professional capabilities but also encourage critical thinking, compassion, ethical awareness, and a commitment to society.

Our programmes are designed to provide learners with relevant knowledge and practical understanding so that they can confidently respond to emerging social challenges and contribute constructively to the development of our nation and the wider world.

I invite students, educators, researchers, and all those who believe in the transformative power of education to become a part of the IISS community. Together, let us pursue knowledge that inspires, education that empowers, and ideas that contribute to building a more inclusive, responsible, and progressive society.
